Aldagen is developing therapeutic product candidates and will ultimately seek approval for commercial sale from the FDA through a Biologic License Application (BLA). Each of our product candidates consists of the population of ALDH^br cells we produce from a patient's own bone marrow using our proprietary technology. ALDH^br cells represent a very small fraction, typically less than 1%, of all cells in bone marrow. Our technology allows for the sorting of the ALDH^br cell populations and their return to the clinician for administration to the patient typically within 36 hours. This rapid turnaround and simple manufacturing process lead to low infrastructure and manufacturing costs and an ability to scale manufacturing to meet commercial demand.
